'Twas the Night Before QE 2

Twas the night before QE2, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a Wall St banker louse

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care
In hopes that Ben Shalom soon would be there

Blankfein and Dimon were nestled all snug in their beds
While visions of free money danced in their heads

And momma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap
Just couldn't believe all this fucking crap

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter
It was the Brazilians and Chinese, they were mad as a hatter

Away to the window, I flew like a flash
And saw Ben Shalom printing boat loads of cash

The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow
Just what is Ben going to do with all of that dough?

When what to my wondering eyes should appear
Paul Krugman screaming, print more Ben, have no fear

With a little old driver, so lively and quick
It was Alan Greenspan, I never liked that old prick

More rapid than eagles, his coursers they came
They are preparing for the fiat currency endgame

Now Dasher!, now Dancer!, on Donder and Blitzen
Is that Arthur Burns talking with Richard Nixon?

To the top of the porch, to the top of the wall
The US dollar, it will take a mighty fall

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
The middle class, savers and retiree's ask why?

So up to the house top the coursers they flew
Is it this type of economics Bush called voodoo?

And then in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
It was the value of my house, it was going Poof!

As I drew in my head, and was turning around
Ben Shalom said, extended period, rates zero bound

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot
Ben smiled and winked, it was the Bernanke put

A bundle of dollars he had flung on his back
Could it be that this Doctor is nothing but a quack?

His eyes-how they twinkled! His dimples how merry!
But where is little Timmy, his Treasury secretary?

His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow
I have to admit, he looked somewhat loco

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his mouth
Still wondering how subprime housing took the economy south

He had a broad face and a little round belly
With him was an odd looking man named William Dudley

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf
From the thin air, from nothing, he claimed to be creating wealth

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head
He heard Ron Paul yell, it's time to end the Fed

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work
Mumbled under his breath, that Axel Weber, he is a jerk

And laying his finger aside of his nose
He watched with glee as the yen, real and euro they rose

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle
It was the Chinese that he had hoped to put in a pickle

But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight
Happy QE2 to all and to all a good night
