Protest in Yemen Call for the Ouster of US Backed President as US Military Begins Training Yemen's "Counterterrorism" Unit

SANAA, Yemen (AP) - More than 1,000 people protested in Yemen for a fourth straight day Monday, demanding political reforms and the ouster of the U.S.-allied president in demonstrations inspired by the upheaval in Egypt.

WASHINGTON – Faced with an increasingly alarming threat from al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula, the U.S. military will begin a new training program with Yemen's counterterrorism unit so it can move against militants believed to be plotting attacks on America from safe havens there.
