New Orders Index Decline Faster Then after 9/11 or Hurricane Katrina

Most troubling, the new-orders component of the index fell 11 points, the fastest decline on record (dating to 1997), surpassing the sharp declines seen after 9/11, Hurricane Katrina and the near-collapse of the global financial system in 2008.
