The popular protests we are witnessing in Iraq, whether in the central and southern parts of the country by Arabs, both Sunni and Shiites, and those taking place in the Kurdish north, are voices denouncing sectarianism, factionalism and favoritism in the U.S.-guarded protectorate in central Baghdad.
Neither the U.S. nor the Iraqi government can deceive the Iraqis any more by trumpeting empty claims about freedom and democracy."
